Our Story

Dhow-Licious Ltd is a Tanzanian-registered company specializing in fiberglass

boat manufacturing, repair, and marine engineering services. Founded in 2011, the company initially produced furniture from recycled dhow wood and fiberglass. With years of experience and growing demand for modern, durable marine vessels, Dhow-Licious expanded into boat construction, refurbishment, and marine engine maintenance — serving both private and government clients across Tanzania.

Today, Dhow-Licious Ltd is recognized as a leading local manufacturer of high-quality fiberglass boats, offering tailor-made solutions for fishing, transport, patrol, tourism, and training applications.

Tanzania Blue Economy Project

Dhow-Licious’s values align closely with the objectives of Tanzania’s Blue Economy. Through the production of fiber glass boats, training programs, and educational workshops, we actively support sustainable marine practices. A recent project in Tanga (Tanga Yetu) exemplifies this commitment: 24 fiber glass boats were delivered from Dar es Salaam to local fishermen. Our involvement extended beyond delivery, providing hands-on training in boat operation and maintenance, as well as workshops focused on preventing destructive fishing practices.
